More Hats

My sister modeling her house slippers, hat and scarf I made for her, in her favorite color, mint green.
For her boys, I've made warmer hats. These hats start the same as the hats for the hat and scarf sets.
Except, don't finish off when the hat covers your forehead. Center the hat on the top of your head. When it covers your eyebrows, space the eye holes by chaining 10 or 12. Work the next row with 10 or 12 dc stitches in the chains. Over the nose and mouth, I like to work what I call dc mesh (dc, ch alternating). The green is their school color.
When the tube hat is long enough to reach the shoulders, work even across part of the stitches for the front and back flaps. This hat is made with camouflage yarn for hunting. Teenagers are so busy that the youngest brother had to model all 3 hats.
He's a big fan of spiderman, so after making the hat in red, I embroidered black lines so he could look like his hero.
The back. This flap isn't as long since it goes under the coat. These boys don't always fasten their coats, so the longer front flap helps keep their necks and chests warm without needing a scarf which would probably be left somewhere and be lost.
