Single Crochet

The next stitch to learn is the single crochet.
The middle of these "pineapples" is made with single crochet and chain stitches.
A chain of 11 chain stitches is a good sized base for practice.
I have one chain stitch between my fingers
To start, you'll skip the first chain stitch.
Insert your hook in the second chain stitch.
 Wrap yarn around the hook.
Pull it through the loops of chain stitch. You have 2 loops on your hook.
Wrap the yarn around the hook. Also called yarn over in patterns.
Pull it through the 2 loop you had on your hook. 1 single crochet made.
Insert your hook in the next chain stitch.
 Yarn over.
Pull it through the chain stitch, 2 loops on hook.
 Yarn over.
Pull it through. 2 single crochet (sc) made.
Continue across the row. Then chain 1 and turn the work to work back across the sc stitches you just made.
Skip the chain 1 and insert hook in the top of sc stitch.
 Yarn over.
 Pull it through.
 Yarn over
Pull it through.  Repeat across the row. chain 1 and turn to start each new row.
